Welcome to the official site of the 2004 Type 3 VW Invasion!
The 2004 Invasion is history. If you missed it, you missed a great time. If you were there, you know what I am talking about. We had 39 Type 3 Owners/Enthusiast show up for the Invasion. Some without their cars, but they were there and got to meet other Type 3 fans, renew old friendships and make new ones, and just enjoy a relaxing weekend around a bunch of great people and great cars. Speaking of cars, we had 29 cars show up over the weekend including the 71 Square from the movie Witness. We even had an SP2 show up. Rare treats both. Check out the Daily Account link for Keith Park's day by day account of the Invasion. Also check out the 2004 Invasion Pictures link for a few pictures from the Invasion and the Actual Invaders link to see who and where people came from. We also handed out a few Awards for fun.
A huge thank you to our excellent hosts for the weekend, the Harrisburg Area Volkswagen Owners Club. and especially their president, Ron Mann. Ron and the rest of HAVOC did a great job making every feel welcome and making sure everyone was taken care of.
In addition to the great time we all had, we also helped out the local Ronald McDonald House. Between proceeds from the sale of the official Invasions shirts and dash plaques and the gate for the two weekend days, the 2004 Invasion was able to present the Hershey Ronald McDonald House with a check for over $400. Check out the Invasion Charity link for a few pictures and more information on the Ronald McDonald House. Thanks everyone.
It is never too early to start thinking about the 2006 Invasion! It will be happening in Myrtle Creek, OR. Preliminary info on the 2006 Invasion is on Brian Fye's site. Bookmark that page and check back for updates as more information is added and is it migrated over to the "Official" Invasion site. |
