Wounded Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen and Marines have a long and very difficult road ahead.  Most are young, and their lives and the lives of their families have been forever changed protecting our freedom. Regardless of their gender, race, or ethnic heritage, these wounded American heroes and their families clearly understand the high cost of freedom.

They need and deserve all the support we can give them.  Simply put, helping the families is the right thing to do.  The purpose of the fund is to raise money and assist these families while they are here in Central Virginia.  FOTW, Inc. been doing this since 2005, and for your generosity, we are most grateful.  As of the end of 2007, there has been over one million dollar donated to this charity.

However, it is apparent we need to increase our level of family support.  This comes as patient levels are expected to rise significantly and our funds continue to be depleted.

Compatriots of the Richmond Chapter SAR have already donated $1200 to the Families of the Wounded Fund in 2008.  The Richmond Chapter SAR will also be making a $750 contribution to the Families of the Wounded Fund in 2008.

One-hundred percent of funds collected are distributed

to the families of the wounded.

The Richmond Chapter, Society Sons of the American Revolution is honored to support the Families of the Wounded Fund, Inc.  Our Compatriot, Colonel L.W. "Chip" Houston (US Marines) and President of Afton Services will gladly speak to your group about this charity.  His email address is justhokie@aol.com.
