It all started when I was young and saw my first Fox Mustang as a little boy, I did not know what the car was, but it was love at first site. A few years later, my dad bought a new 86 Mustang 6 cyl Automatic. It was no fire breathing GT, but I liked the looks of the car inside and out. My first car I bought when I was 17 was a Ford Exp. I have to find a picture of it and scan it in, It was a sharp little mini Mustang look alike with a 1.6 4 cyl 3 speed automatic and only two seats. It was the sporty predecessor of the Escort GT, and was, in fact an Escort with sporty bodywork. It was white on white, and had a fiberglass spoiler to help make the Mustang look but the car could barley get out of its own way. When that car died, as with all my past rides, a part of me went to the bone yard with it. I was able to buy an 81 Turbo Mustang, Black, with aluminum American racing wheels for $800. The car has a peppy 2.3 L 4 cyl and a 4-speed stick, I was born to drive stick as it seems! The Turbo was toasted and the car had been hit very hard in the front right and as it was, was not worth fixing, even if I had the money, and I was still in high school and had no extra coin. It got to the point I could not get the car inspected. So I removed the Turbo hood scoop and let the car go to the big body shop in the sky. At this point it was late 1993, I had just graduated from HS and joined the Army Reserves, I returned from the 6 months of Basic training with a pocket full of money and no usable car. So what’s a boy to do? Buy a Mustang? Not exactly. My first love, Motorcycles! I brand spanking new 1992 leftover Yamaha Secca II 600. I flogged the bike for about 6 months before I crashed it and landed in the hospital with a broken right shoulder, collapsed lung, and no bike, no car either. I bought this 86 GT shortly after returning home from the hospital. I got a small personal loan from the bank, half of witch I used to help furnish the apartment I had, the other half I used for the car. The car was a NY theft recovery and a very nice stock 86 GT with no mods. The theft had left it with a broken windshield, lightly hit front right bumper, and a keyed hood. Looked like a fraud job all the way. Anyway, I got the car for $2500 and spent about $400 getting the title cleared from NY. The car has a clean PA title now. Below is a picture.

What you don’t see, because I cropped the picture, is me with a very sad looking broken shoulder in a sling still. Meaning, the car is an automatic. Oh well, that’s what wrenches are for right?
