First of all, I will only sell to homes that are approved. My policies are rigid, but this is because I want to ensure that my chinchillas go to a loving, caring home for the rest of their lives.

You must be 18 years or older to purchase a chinchilla from Winmar Farms. If you are under 18 years old, I will need to speak with your parent or guardian; they must also be the person to complete and sign all forms. I will need to see some form of I.D. at the time of pick-up or delivery to determine that you are older than 18. This applies to everyone; I must see it even if you look older than 18.

Winmar Farms reserves the right to cancel a sale right up until the time the chinchilla is delivered.

I do not ship my chinchillas. You must be able to pick them up or make other arrangements to meet me within a reasonable distance from Jacksonville, FL. If arrangements are made to meet you, then a fee to cover my gas expenses will be required. I must receive this fee before I make the trip. The fee will be based on current gas prices, my car’s average gas mileage, and the total distance I must travel.

Once a verbal agreement has been made on your chinchilla purchase, I must receive a 50% non-refundable deposit within a week. I only accept cash, personal checks, or a cashier’s check. The deposit will hold the chinchilla for 30 days or until it is weaned, whichever is later. The remaining balance must be made before pick-up or delivery. If you prefer to pay by cashier’s check or personal check, I must receive the payment at least 3 weeks before you receive your chinchilla. If your check bounces, you will be responsible for paying any fees that are incurred. I will only be able to accept cash at the time of pick-up or delivery. If the chinchilla does not go to its new home within the agreed upon time frame, then it will be put back up for sale unless other arrangements are made beforehand.

You agree that the chinchilla you purchase will remain in your care unless circumstances prohibit this. If such circumstances should arise, Winmar Farms has first right to get the chinchilla back. If Winmar Farms cannot take the chinchilla back for some reason, the chinchilla will not be sold, traded, or given away without written consent from Winmar Farms. I will be willing to help you find a new suitable home for the chinchilla.

I require that any potential buyers fill out an application. I must receive a completed copy by e-mail before you inquire about a chinchilla. I will also need a completed and signed hard copy before a chinchilla is picked-up or delivered. Also, the hard copy needs your initials in the lower right corner of every page.
