"The Resume Way"  Copyright 2002 Jacqueline S. Levy

Resume writing was for the birds --
A nightmare that made me feel sick.
Landing a job with just one page of words
Could not be done till I discovered the trick.

I don't simply think;  I analyze.
I never boss;  I supervise.
Don't avoid what I hate;  I prioritize.
That's the resume way.

I don't merely talk;  I communicate.
I never beg; I motivate.
I don't pass the buck;  I delegate.
That's the resume way.

        My experience is extensive.
        My focus is intensive.
My new suit is expensive --
Because besides how you say it,
        It's how you display it.

I don't take a guess;  I estimate.
Don't crawl to my boss;  I escalate.
I don't steal pens;  I reallocate.
That's the resume way.

Better yet, I'll get an interview
Where the CEO is my Uncle Stu.
        Then I won't ever need
        The resume way.
