23 January 2005 -- Bowl With Really Cool Kids Through The Arlington-Alexandria Coalition for the Homeless

What:Bowl with Really Cool Kids
When: Sunday, January 23rd; 1:00 p.m.
Where: Secure, undisclosed location in Clarendon, Arlington, VA. RSVPer's will be updated with details
Cost:$5 for bowling shoes and two games
Details: Have a blast bowling with really cool kids ... We'll be meeting up with the kids at a secure undisclosed location near Clarendon then carpooling to the Bowling Alley. We need two or three more people willing to drive.
Deadline: The sooner the better.

8 February 2005 -- Happy Hour @ The Coffee Shop Formerly Known As Common Grounds

What:Open Mike Comedy Night
When: Tuesday, February 8, 2005; Start Drinking Lattes at 6:45. Start Laughing at 7:30 p.m.
Where:Common Grounds (Now Renamed Murky Coffee) [I know, I know, it sounds strange, but I didn't pick the name]
Cost: Free, you pay for your own drinks
Details: Drink lattes, listen to local stand up comedians, or be a comedian yourself.
Deadline: Tuesday February 8, 2005

October 2004 -- Volunteer with Dinner Program for Homeless Women

What: Halloween Soup Kitchen Event with Dinner Program for Homeless Women Register early! (There are only a limited number of slots for this event) DPHW provides a place of hospitality and support, where any woman and her children may receive a hot, nutritious, and appetizing dinner in a safe, stable environment and be provided with the support and opportunity she needs to make her homelessness a transitional, rather than a permanent, state. DPHW serves meals to 80 to 100 women and children each evening.
When: Sunday October 31th. Arrive around between 3 PM and 4:30 PM . Volunteers are asked to stay until 7:30 PM. Cluster party afterwards at Gordon Bierch.
Where: 945 G Street, NW, Washington, DC 20001 (Near Gallery Place/Chinatown and Metro Center Metro stop
Cost: Free, but RSVP early
Registration Deadline: The earlier the RSVP, the better

September 2004 -- Volunteer With Hunger Action

What: Come out to make a difference in the lives of the homeless on Thursday September 23. By working with Hunger Action HungerAction, a program of the Washington D.C. Jewish community Center, they have prepare hundreds of meals for Washington area hungry and homeless. Now it's your turn to put your best foot forward. Register early! (There are only a limited number of slots for this event)
When: Thursday September 23 6:45 PM - 9 PM
Where: DCJCC, 1529 16th Street, Washington, DC 20036. Take the Red Line to Dupont Circle. Exit at Q Street., crossing over Connecticut Avenue. The Center is located four blocks away on Q Street at the Southeast Corner of 16th Street and Q Street.
Cost: Nothing, but must register by September 16

July 2004 -- Wine Tasting at Best Cellars Wine Shop

What:Wine Tasting at Best Cellars, a nationally know wine retail store that rotates its wine offerings to bring unique wines to its customers. New York Eats called Best Cellars "The most fun and exciting concept to come along in years in the wine business."
When:Thursday, July 29th; 6:30 p.m.
Where: Best Cellars, 2855 Clarendon Boulevard, Arlington, VA, about one block from the Clarendon Metro Stop
Cost: Pay as you go for wine; about $5 per glass
