| Alan Spector plays acoustic guitar and is the primary vocalist for the group. Growing up in central Illinois, Alan experimented with a wide variety of musical styles and his tastes range from ragtime to modern jazz. He admires the great jazz vocal stylists and has a particular fondness for swing music. Alan has been performing in the Bay Area since 1981. | Joe Yamamoto is a phenomenal musician who displays his virtuosity in violin and mandolin. Born in Tokyo, Joe showed an affinity for all types of American music, especially jazz. He was strongly influenced by the violin style of Stephan Grappelli and the Hot Club of France. Joe moved to San Francisco in 1985 and since that time has worked with many of the city's leading artists. |
| Dave Bell is a graduate of Berklee College of Music where he studied with many jazz greats including Gary Burton. When he's not working with JazzMine, Dave tours with Dan Hicks, plays with the bossa nova group Via Rio, and runs his studio (Bellboy Recording in Richmond) where he has recorded many of the area's leading musicians. | Ran Bush has been playing acoustic and electric bass for over thirty years. It's always a pleasure to have Ran on stage, with his sense of humor and his ability to connect with the audience. Before joining JazzMine, Ran played with local swing, country, and bluegrass bands. |
