Welcome To My 2004 Vietnam Photo Gallery
| The following pictures are part of my Vietnam Gallery courtesy of Jay White attached to the 23rd Artillery Group at Post Headquarters, Phu Loi. He was the PX officer. He went to most of the American bases from Saigon to Hanoi. It was a great tour. The tour company is Mil Spec Tours out of Flourtown, Pennsylvania. He highly recommends it. All the tour guides were knowledgeable GI's who were there. The author of the book, Platoon, Robert Hemphill, a company commander was one of his guides. Oliver Stone who made the movie was a spec 4 under Hemphill's command. He never heard such great stories. Not much is recognizable as the country has grown tremendously over the last 32+years. Lots of green vegetation that we didn't have, for obvious reasons, back then. Phu Loi has undergone tremendous growth in the last 5 years as it was one of the few places where the developers who were building houses could find large tracks of cheap land for housing. There are 8 million residents of Saigon and the suburbs reach out to Phu Loi. A construction firm from China is developing the area and as you can see not much is standing in their way. |
