Jesus Christ is My Savior
"Trust in Him if you haven't already done so."
"Greater love
hath no man than this,
that a man lay down his life for his friends..."
John 15:13
Remembering September 11, 2001
Come, Holy Spirit
of Love and Peace,
we long for your healing touch.
On September 11, 2001,
our country was scarred
by hatred and revenge ...
we long for your healing touch.
Hearts were broken and lives were lost,
and fear and anger prevailed ...
we long for your healing touch.
Awaken in us, Holy Spirit,
a deep and respectful remembrance ...
that you are a God of love, not hatred,
that you are a God of forgiveness, not revenge,
that you are a God of peace, not war.
Remembering these things, we ask you to
bless our country and all those defending
its ideals of freedom and liberty
and bring them safely home.
May your gifts of peace, love, and forgiveness
transform our hatred, anger, and fear,
so that peace on earth will be possible once again.
Come Holy Spirit of Love and Peace,
we long for your
healing touch.
A Warrior's Affirmation
"God holds in his heart a very special place
for Warriors who lose their lives in defense of Righteous Ideals;
even when those ideals aren't always strictly defined. God
loves courage, honor, devotion and sacrifice
in those of His children.. Your comrades and loved ones have not
died in vain! Take faith that God will, in His own time, restore
again unto your loved ones, a newness of Life and youth. For it
was our Lord's own words: "I am the Resurrection and the
Life: He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he
live; and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never
die..."
John 11:25
To Those Who Answered the Call to Serve...
Battle torn, battle worn,
with wounded hearts that always mourn...
In tattered bodies, we bore the scorn,
When coming home to welcome, none
We learned the truth: The war could not be won!
But the loss and shame is not ours to bear,
For it was our leaders, who sent us there!
There's is the loss, the defeat, the blame,
There's is the dishonor and the shame!
We are Proud Veterans: No one can rob us of our Pride!
We gave our All; some gave their everything when they died...
Let us take this moment in reverence, and remembrance
of the blood, sweat and tears we all shed for a Higher Cause:
For Duty, Honor and Country, and for this, we Veterans here do
pause,
God Bless us all, and let us continue in this Brotherhood,
Till time is no more, and then discover our cause was Just and
Good!
Our lasting consolation, is our memory of those, our sisters and
brothers!
Never again shall one generation of Veterans, forsake another!
by Ken Jaccard, YN3, USNR, Ret.
This Poem is Dedicated to all Veterans of the Vietnam War, our
cause was just! Think not that all was lost in the loss of that
war, brothers and sisters...The war did a big number on Communism
and helped push back communist aggression... Because of the high
cost of the war in Vietnam on both sides, we are the ones who
brought down the Berlin Wall; no one else can claim that honor!
We were the ones who finally put the Soviet Union where it
deserved to go - to it's grave! Yes, brothers and sisters, we did
not lose that war. Today, the Cold War is history. We can claim
that Ultimate Victory! Those whose names appear on the Vietnam
War Memorial - The Wall - did not die in vain! Nor did we serve
in vain! Never forget that! That is our lasting legacy which we
have left for future generations, that they make not the same
mistakes again. It is only sad that it took the building of The
Wall, to bring down the one in Berlin, but more has been lost in
the past, than what was ever gained of previous wars, but look,
people, what we have gained! Truly something to think about.
Where will this new Order take us? Will we become complacent
again, and send, yet another generation into harms way?
The answer? Yes. We did it in the Gulf for oil. Where a few
desert sheiks in white robes commanded the Government of the
Richest and most blessed and powerful Nation in the history of
the world, to once again spend the precious lives of their youth,
to further corporate interests abroad. No lesson seemed learned.
We'll do it again, because we allow this government to continue
without resistance. (my opinions - sorry if they offend, but for
the sake of not being politically correct, I'll say what I have
said.).
"We can never leave Vietnam, for it is as much a part of us,
as our heart is.... Vietnam is no longer only a country, but also
a state of mind, and because of our involvement in that war, we
have become a part of Vietnam, and Vietnam has become a part of
us. One can never be without the other! The closure we have been
working on all these years, is our way of finally coming full
circle, and finally becoming friends with that part of our life,
for coming Full Circle is the Passage we make back to
Sanity.." WELCOME HOME!
