Vietnam Diary
I was also at Binh Hoa for TDY training. I was there for a week. When stayed
in tents. I don't recall more about being there at this time.
I was also at Chu Chi to see Bob Hope. We drew lotteries to see who went.
I did get close to him when he went by in his jeep.I remember this place
where Charlie would harass everyday with a few rounds and then run. Later
they found out he had the mortar tubes buried in the ground.
My Uncle Dave was stationed at Zion, which was the next base over. I never
did get to see him, but talked to him on the phone. Our First Sgt. gave me
a hard time about it until he found out my uncle was a Master Sgt.
I was at Long Binh twice. Once I rode shotgun for the water truck. The second
was when I left country. I believe I stated in the beginning, that I arrived
in country on May 15, that was when I left the states. However I did leave
Vietnam on May 15 ( my dads birthday) and arrived home on the same date because
of the international dateline.
This ends my diary for now. My mind is starting to recall more as time goes
on and I think about it more, which I haven't done too much in years. I know
there was a lot of people who had it worse than me, but it didn't take much
not to come home.Bye for now and I hoped that I haven't bored you too much.
I found I do enjoy writing more on the computer then long hand even though
I type slow.

to Vung Tahl to go before the E-5 board for Specialist 5. I almost got in
trouble when I missed my chopper back to Phu Loi. My First Sgt., who was
on the board, Said if I didn't get back that day, I s in trouble. Fortunately
I made it back and Believe it or not, I made E5.
