About Me...
I started my career in Tampa, Florida at the age of 17 in the beauty industry. I trained under names such as Toni and Guy, Graham Webb International, and KMS Hair Care. I received my first massage when I was 21 and I was hooked. Now I hope to help others to find the happiness I did.
I have my National Certification and State Licensures in massage therapy and body work. I trained at Edutech Center in Clearwater, Florida and graduated in 2005. I studied thirteen different massage modalities, including Swedish Massage, Deep Tissue, Sports Massage, Esalen Touch, Myofascial Release, Cranio-Sacral, and Aromatherapy, just to name a few. I have also taught massage therapy.
I have participated in Body Electric workshops, where I have learned to help people experience their potential as fully integrated, loving and self-aware beings through personal growth exercises, touch, conscious breath, and honoring the wisdom of the body.
About My Massage Style...
Massage is a way of honoring and caring for your body. Good bodywork reconnects pathways on multiple levels within the body, providing an enhanced awareness of your body and how you feel within it. Your massage should be a unique experience that is catered especially for you. Communication between you and your therapist is vitally important. I customize all of my massage sessions to your specific needs.
My bodywork style incorporates neuromuscular (NMT) and Swedish techniques. NMT is massage applied to specific muscles, often used to increase blood flow, release knots of muscle tension, or release pain/pressure on nerves. This therapy is also known as trigger-point therapy because concentrated finger pressure is applied to “trigger points” to alleviate muscular pain.
The Swedish technique is generally regarded as the most common form of massage. Swedish massage involves a combination of five basic strokes and concentrates on the muscles and connective tissues of the body for improved circulation, relaxation, pain relief, and overall health maintenance and well-being. When applied after NMT, Swedish reduces muscular soreness after each massage session. |
