They lived and worked together a long time and got to know each other quite well. When they got tired of Parcheesi for the day, whoever was not working would do something together. Go to the Alert Shack to bring back the mail, out to sun bathe, or "get me a pass for town, and I’ll go with you. There’s a movie at the Red Cross Hostel. Wanna go? Can’t, got to wash my socks. Hey, who’s got the camera, I got some film. There’s a poker game in number two barracks, I’m gonna play. I’m sacking out, I’m tired."
