There was a USO, called the United Nations Club, on the way to town, just inside the city limits. They often stopped there on the way into town. There was wine and sometimes beer for sale. The girls were friendly and could speak good English. When they couldn’t, it was "aaaaaaaahhhhhh ssssssoooooo". |

There was another place in the barracks area, the Red
Cross Hostel. There was free hot chocolate to drink, a record player, a set
of drums, papers and books. A place to write letters.
