A Unique Blend
Though our activities at Thru the Field Farm serve as an ongoing research venture, our summer field school is an ideal training facility for students interested in exploring archaeology, anthropology, and historic preservation as career paths. Additionally, our field school has provided unique experiences for students majoring in history, geology, forensic science, environmental science, and teacher education.
Why should you enroll?
Through the techniques and skills acquired during Pitt-Greensburg's archaeology field school, students make great strides in discovering themselves and their world. Our closely mentored training program encourages students to develop the traditional skills of practicing professionals, including:
      - Keen Observation
      - Critical Thinking
      - Inspired Inquiry
At the same time, our field program promotes among its students the development of key life skills, including:
      - Patience as a source of self-discipline.
      - Self-Reliance within a cooperative enterprise.
      - Leadership in a setting where teamwork - not competition - is cherished above all else.
