Download wavsplit.exe
wavsplit.exe was written to work with wav files produced by Rocky. When playing back a wav file in Rocky there is not a way to stop the play back and then restart play back from the point where you stopped. Splitting the wav file into smaller sequential wav files lets you step through a large recording at your own pace. The Rocky waterfall display is awesome for looking at CW. I'm learning code right now so I like to use the waterfall display to practice on real signals.
I have tested wavsplit with 96 KHz 24-bit sample files. I have not tested it with lower sample rates or 16-bit sample files.
Usage:
1) open a command prompt
2) cd to the directory containing wavsplit.exe
3) type wavsplit and hit enter to print the help screen
4) help screen will tell you how to use wavsplit.exe
Playing back the wavsplit files in Rocky:
1) Start Rocky
2) go to File and select Start radio, then immediately stop the radio, this is a
work around for a problem between Rocky and my files that I have not
figured out, if you fail to do this step Rocky will hang during play back at
the end of the file
3) go to File and select Play I/Q from file then choose the file that you wish to
start with
4) repeat step 3 for the following files
Notes:
1) use \\ for each \ in the input file path
2) no spaces are allowed in the input file and path
3) set the leftChannelSampleShift to 1 to correct the sample shift problem on
Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit cards
4) sometimes on play back Rocky will throw an access violation error, click ok
and then stop the play back, you should then be able to continue normally
