Endorsements

Michael Partie, Delaplane Manor

Dear Neighbors:

My name is Michael Partie and I live here in Delaplane Manor.  This is a political endorsement letter so if you've had it with all the unsolicited mail and general election noise, and want to throw this away, I understand. But since we're neighbors, I hope you'll give me just a few minutes.  We're all busy so if you don't have time to read this right now, maybe you could put it in your bathroom for later.  Eventually, you'll have a few minutes.

Confession time:  While I have a lot of opinions about the national
election, I'm almost completely oblivious to what's going on in local
politics.  I'm pretty much up-to-date on the "war on terror," national
trends in unemployment and poverty, and international relations, but I'm pretty much clueless about what's going on in my own back yard (and if you've seen my back yard, you know what I'm talking about).

The irony is that while I'm informed and motivated on a national scale, the issues and decisions and behavior of elected officials that affects me most directly and immediately, I am least prepared to influence.

That's why I greet J. Roy Cannon's candidacy for NCCo Council with such relief and enthusiasm.  I know this man. He is committed.  He is informed. He is bright. He cannot be bullied.  He cannot be bought.

Visit his website (http://home.comcast.net/~jcannon11). J. Roy is
completely upfront about his positions on the issues facing us as New Castle County residents.  You will not have to wonder and you will not have to guess.

I trust J. Roy Cannon.  I know he will look out for our best interests.

Thanks for listening.

Sincerely,

Michael Partie

Peter Barry, Elementary School Principal

"Hands down, J. Roy Cannon is the best candidate in the race."

Lucia Spillan, member, St. John the Beloved

"Cannon is 100% anti-corruption.  His vote can't be bought.  He fight's for what's right."

Suman Bohm, Auto Worker, General Motors

"He's the only politician I know who actually has some concrete solutions for how to fight job losses and outsourcing.  Other politicians talk and talk and make more promises than a hen lays eggs.  But J. Roy wants to go beyond talk and take action.  His position papers on how to do this is the best thing written by any politician in the state."

Gemma and Jack Buckley, Heritage Park Residents

"Cannon has been trained in the trenches.  He's a guy who for years has raised his voice in support of the average resident's desire to get a fair shake from government.  The reason we're voting for his is because he has a long track record of battling for people's interests and not caving in to corporate interests."

Frieda Berryhill, Community Activist

"Whether you're interested in the environment, racial equity, traffic
congestion, jobs or other issues, J. Roy is the most informed candidate. I'm voting for him.  Everybody should."

Larry Townsend, 9th District Business Owner

"If we want better government, we need candidates like Cannon."
