My Favorite Fremont Links

My most favorite website devoted to John Charles Fremont is Bob Graham's. Take a look at http://www.longcamp.com   Bob is an expert on the last leg of Fremont's 1843-44 expedition - the trek over the Sierras from the Bridgeport area north of Mono Lake to Sutter's Fort - and he has published a book, "The Crossing," about this topic. He has also written a number of fascinating articles on how Fremont determined altitude and longitude. And his mountain howitzer page tells it all about Fremont's famous cannon.

Hugh Danaher also has an excellent Fremont website. Take a look at http://www.museumoflocalhistory.org/fremont One section is devoted to a gallery of Fremont photos. A second section consists of links in order by topic to other Fremont websites.
