Born 1822 in OH, He married Nancy Etchison daughter of Jesse and Nancy (Hilton) Etchison. She was born 1824 in North Carolina, and died Aft. 1850 in Pipe Creek, Madison Co., IN.
Notes for Isaac Schell: Isaac was listed on both the 1850 & 1860 Madison Co. IN Census as a farmer. The 1850 Census listed his wife as Nancy age 26. There was an 11 year old boy named John in 1850. In the 1860 Census there is a 20 year old boy named Joseph. This is probably the same person. The 1860 Census lists Minara age 21 living with Isaac. Nancy is not listed. Minara could be Isaac's second wife, or the wife of Joseph (John) his son. The 1 year old named Joseph is probably Minara's son by Isaac or Joseph (John). Isaac was listed as 32 years old on the 1850 Census and 38 years old on the 1860 Census 10 years latter. Isaac Could have a brother Jacob also listed on Census. In 1850 Isaac owned $1,000.00 in real estate. In 1860 his real estate was worth $2,500.00 and Personal property was $600.00. Isaac was listed as a farmer on the 1850 & 1860 censuses

John Joseph Schell, married Minara Abt. 1859 in Probably Madison Co., IN. She was born 1839 in OH.
Child of John Schell and Minara is:
i. Joseph Schell, born 1859 in Pipe Creek, Madison Co., IN.
Jessee Noah Schell. He married (1) Sarah E. ?. She was born Apr 1851.
He married (2) Elizabeth Dipboye in 1867, daughter of Jonathon Dipboye and Eleanor Bartlett.
She was born Apr. 1851 in IN, and died July 1921 Madison Co., IN.
Notes for Jessee Noah Shell:
Ethel Schell Clements said Jessee's father was thought to have come to America from Germany. She remembers a picture of him in a skull cap with a golden ear ring. He was thought to be a money lender. The picture was destroyed by Lillian Schell because it resembled a Jewish merchant. Ethel thought the resemblance was probably justified.
The Family lived around Elwood, IN. They were of the Episcopal Faith. Jessee was listed on the 1860 Indiana Census as living with his parents in Madison County, Pipe Creek and was attending school.
There is a Tombstone in the Shell Cemetery with the following information: Jessee Shell - 1848 to 1925 Sarah E. Shell - 1851 to 1921

She married Homer Robinson.
Notes for Lillian Schell:
Ray Schell said that he remembers his Aunt Lillian as being a rough girl. He remembers visiting her while she was working in a tavern in Elwood after he got out of the service. Others also remember her as a wild girl. She is said to have been a spiritualist who called up the spirits. Many attest to the facts and stories that she actually did call up the spirits (sometimes when she did not want to.)
No one remembers any children being born to Lillian and Homer.
iv. Blanch Schell
B: 1875 IN, D: 21 Mar 1965
She married Andy Moffitt.
Child of Andy and Blanch was, Ruth Moffitt.
Notes for Blanch Schell:
Ray Schell remembers his Aunt Blanch as living in an old log cabin after her husband, Andy, died. This was around Frankton IN. Blanch was often seen smoking her old pipe.

He married Szabie L. Etchison 02 May 1896 in Anderson, Madison Co. IN; born 15 Mar 1874 in Frankton, Madison Co., IN; died 23 Apr 1927 in St. Joseph Co., South Bend, IN.
Notes for Isaac Noah Schell:
Late in 1902 Isaac and Szabie moved their family from Rensselaier, IN to Elwood, IN. The move was made in a covered wagon. Isaac worked for the railroad. They lived at 401 E. Donmoyer in South Bend for many years. Isaac was of the Episcopal Faith.
