Improved graphics and overall environmental immersive feel from the last one.

A whole new set of characters, puzzles, settings, and story to uncover and experience.

Just like all other Nancy Drew's, it also teaches you something about history as you play.

Deep characters with many sides to them. No stereotypical personalities here.

Same ol' same ol'. All Nancy Drew games appear to be the same, aside from the dramatic improvements between one, two, and three. All the games after Message In A Haunted Mansion are pretty much the same game, and this one is too.

This environment has more of a cold, plain, and unwelcoming feel. Message In A Haunted Mansion had a quaint victorian chinese decor while this one is medieval with stone, white walls, wood, and steel.

The characters are more difficult to relate to in this game than in Message In A Haunted Mansion. A snooty french ski instructor, a photojournalist with fake IDs, a history professor that is obviously lost in her own world, and a caretaker that did well in school but also committed crimes and was disowned by his parents. I can't see myself in any of these characters, and I certainly cannot imagine ever wanting to do the things they do.

Some puzzles are very difficult to figure out, just like all adventure games.
