Ranger Weapons

While teamwork and good tactics are the most important factors in winning a match, the proper weapon used by a well trained Ranger can make the difference between victory and defeat. Every Ranger should become expert first with the Garand, and then as many of the other weapons as possible. Here are the requirements needed to earn an expert marksmanship badge with each weapon. M1 GarandM1 Garand rifle (semi-auto) Great accuracy, great stopping power, good ammo load, this is the backbone of the Ranger squad, and everyone is required to become expert in its use.
M1 CarbineM1 Carbine (semi-auto) Good accuracy, good in close, 15 round magazine, low stopping power, this is a great short-medium range weapon, just remember to double/triple tap at close range.
M1a1 Thompson submachine gunM1a1 Thompson submachine gun (semi/full auto) Very high rate of fire, good accuracy, and good stopping power makes the "Tommy gun" the best sub machine gun. Use semi auto for longer range shots, full auto for close range. Careful, as it's easy to burn through all your ammo in full auto.
M3a1 grease gun submachine gunM3a1 "grease gun" .45 caliber submachine gun (full auto) A decent weapon with good stopping power, it is less accurate and slower firing than the Thompson. Ammunition is less of a concern though. While it only fires full auto, with a little practice squeezing off one shot can be done.
M1903a4 Springfield Sniper rifleM1903a4 Springfield Sniper rifle (single shot bolt action) A good weapon, requires excellent marksmanship and patience to use effectively.
M1918a2 BARM1918a2 BAR (full auto) The Rangers used the 1918a2 model (do not use the m1918 version). It only has average accuracy and moderate ammo load, and has two rates of fire, slow (350 rpm) and fast (550 rpm), use the slow rate at long range, faster at short.
M1919a6 medium machine gunM1919a6 medium machine gun (full auto) The preferred platoon/company level support weapon. Quite accurate when fired prone, with abundant ammo supply, all Rangers should practice and become expert in its use.
M1911 Colt pistolM1911a1 Colt .45 pistol (semi-auto) While an excellent pistol with good stopping power, only snipers should take it. Always double tap with it.
M2 GrenadeM2 Fragmentation Grenade (one use) The grenade is a very powerful weapon, and requires some skill to use effectively. All Rangers should become expert with them.
M1a1 BazookaM1A1 "Bazooka" Rocket Launcher (single shot) The only weapon that can destroy a tank, it is also highly useful against fortified positions and flushing out snipers.
Extra AmmoExtra Ammo Extra ammo gives quite a bit more, but only the M1919a6 and mortar gunners should take it, Rangers should be good enough marksmen to make due with the standard load, so they can take grenades.
M2 MortarM2 60mm Mortar The mortar is difficult to use, but devastatingly effective when mastered. Only Rangers who have been specially trained in its use may take this weapon.
