Jennifer Cutting, North America's "Maestro of Electric Folk," is an award-winning composer/producer and the creative director of SunSign, her own international production company. Specializing in U.S./U.K. collaborations, Cutting conquers daunting transatlantic logistics to record and produce her visions with an all-star cast of British and American musicians. Creating original productions of folk-rock, electronic folk, and other hybrid genres inspired by the music of British and Celtic tradition, Cutting is an auteur of international standing, and has produced and recorded with some of the greatest legends of the genre. Praised by Billboard for her "strong originals," she composes melodic tradition-inflected songs that have won the USA's most prestigious national awards. Also an innovative arranger, keyboard & squeezebox player, she swept the 2005 Washington Area Music Awards, taking "Musician of the Year", "Songwriter of the Year", "Best New Artist", and for her latest CD Ocean, "Album of the Year" and "Best Contemporary Folk Recording."  From 1986-1996 she was the driving creative force of celebrated electric folk band The New St. George, whom she led to America's major festival stages, a nationally distributed recording, High Tea, and 14 Washington Area Music Awards (WAMMIES). Inspiring Jennifer's creative career is her work with the largest traditional music collection in the United States as Reference Specialist in the Archive of Folk Culture at the Library of Congress.
