August von Cramon was a Prussian cavalry officer who at mobilization was serving as Chief of General Staff for the VIIIth Army Corps. He was transferred to Vienna in 1915 to spend the remainder of the Great War functioning as Prussia's military liaison at k.u.k. Headquarters.
