Georg Emil Theodor Müldner von Mülnheim

Born as the oldest son of a Hannoverian captain (in Prussian service after 1866), Georg von Müldner was the older brother of Major Louis von Müldner and came from a family of military heritage. Georg’s grandfather Karl was ennobled as a Kurhessian adjutant-general and major general in 1831.

Georg von Müldner was promoted to captain in the Niederhessisches Füsilier Regiment Nr.39 (re-named the "Ludendorff-Regt" in October 1918) in March 1911.  The 39th Fusiliers and 159th Infantry-Regt together formed the 28th Infantry Brigade of the 14th Division (VII. Corps, commanded by Colonel General Josias von Heeringen.

At war's outbreak, von  Müldner was company commander in the 1st Battalion, which was commanded by Major Freiherr von Massenbach (who later commanded the 90th Fusilier-Regt). As the war continued, von Müldner was promoted to major and commanded 2nd Battalion during the battle at Chemin-des Dames, spring 1917. He resigned his commission in December 1917 as a lieutenant-colonel and was honored with the decoration of the Hohenzollern House Order with Swords. Von Müldner retired to his estate near Kassel, but later sold both Elbersdorf and Eltmansee and settled in Berlin permanently where he died on January 1941.
