Maximilian Sigmund Wilhelm Ritter von Kirschbaum
(27.07.1862 - 25.10.1916)
place of birth:
 Nürnberg, Franken  (Franconia)
Königreich Bayern:  Div-Kdr,  Generalmajor

The outbreak of the Great War found Maximilian von Kirschbaum serving in the Royal Bavarian Army as a brigade-level commander subordinate to Ritter von Höhn's 6th Bavarian Infantry Division. General von Kirschbaum then became that division's commander himself in October 1916, although he was killed in action one month later at La Bassée, France. He was survived by his spouse, the former Henriette Freiin von Brück and daughter Charlotte, who later became a renowned theologian. Generalmajor Ritter von Kirschbaum was laid to rest at Munich's Nordfriedhof.
