General Albert Seekirchner served as an artillery officer in the Royal Bavarian Military during the Great War. He went into semi-retirement as a breveted Generalmajor for a five-year period prior to war's outbreak, but was then reactivated in December of 1914 to head up a Bavarian reserve artillery brigade. Having received a promotion to the rank of Generalleutnant, Seekirchner was then briefly in command of Bavaria's 8th Reserve Infantry Division. His son Albert also pursued a military career, serving as an artillery officer during World War Two.
