Royal Bavarian general Eugen von Zoellner commanded Bavaria's 49th Reserve Division and 2. Infantry Division during the Great War. Immediately following Armistice, Generalmajor von Zoellner was tasked with commanding 6th Division headquartered in Regensburg until June 1919. He then commanded III. Bavarian Army Corps in Nürnberg for about three months. General Zoellner spent his retirement years in Berlin, where in 1945 he was killed during a allied bomb raid.
