Eduard Georg Gustav von Below

place of birth:  Graudenz, Westpreußen  (Grudziadz, Poland)


German general of infantry who served as 9th Infantry Division commander in the years leading up to the war. He remained in this role at war's outbreak, heading the 9th Division under Hermann von Strantz' V. Corps (attached to Fifth Army). He later replaced Strantz as V. Corps commander. Von Below reportedly died in Waynesville, Missouri.
