General of Infantry who commanded the XI. Corps at outbreak. He started out under Hausen's Third Army but was soon detached to besiege Namur. At the end of August 1914, XI. Corps was transferred to the Hindenburg's Eighth Army on the Eastern Front. Plüskow was known as "der lange Otto" due to his being 6'8" tall (2.08m), reportedly the tallest general in the German Army.
