Robert Kosch 
(5.4.1856 - 22.12.1942)
place of birth:  Glatz, Niederschlesien  (Klodzko, Poland)


Silesian general of infantry who began his career in 1874. In October 1914 he replaced Francois in East Prussia as commander of I. Army Corps (attached to Hindenburg's Eighth Army) and was awarded the Pour le Merite for distinguished service during this time. He served for a year as commander of the X. Reserves and then successfully led the General-Kommando 52 (GK 52) during the campaign in Romania (1916-17). The GK 52 was also known as the Donau (Danube) Army from August 1916  to January 1918.
