(5.10.1862 - 6.2.1936)
place of birth:  Berlin  (Brandenburg)

Foreign Minister who replaced von Hintze in 1918 during the last few weeks of the War. Was unsure if WW1 hostilities should cease or not. He later served the Weimar Republic as envoy to Japan (1920-28). His wife Johanna Dotti became an active member of the German resistance to Hitler.
