Eduard Friedrich Karl von Fransecky (16.11.1807 - 22.5.1890) place of birth: Gedern, Hessen (Hessia) General of Infantry Eduard von Fransecky served as an officer in the Imperial German Army from 1825 through 1879, when he was selected as Governor of Berlin. He headed a division during the Austro-Prussian War of 1866 and commanded the Second Army Corps during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71. Thereafter, Kaiser Wilhelm I appointed von Fransecky to command the newly-formed Fifteenth Army Corps in Strassburg. |
