Prussian cavalry general Prince Friedrich (also: Frederick) was the son of Karl Anton von Hohenzollern-Sigmaringen and thus the brother of King Carol I of Romania. Friedrich married Princess Louisa von Thurn und Taxis in 1879 but had no children. At the height of his military career, Prince Friedrich commanded Third Army Corps headquartered in Berlin from 1893 to 1896. He died in Munich in 1904 and was interred at Erlöserkirche in Sigmaringen-Hedingen.
