Heinrich Adolf von Zastrow (11.8.1801 - 12.8.1875) place of birth: Danzig, West Preußen (Gdansk, Poland) Prussian general Heinrich von Zastrow entered the military service in 1819 as an infantry lieutenant. He was a military liaison officer in Turkey from 1839 to 1842, and then headed up the 11th Infantry Division during the Austro-Prussian War of 1866, seeing action at Königgrätz. Thereafter, he succeeded Vogel von Falckenstein as 7th Army Corps commander, leading his troops into battle during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71. He retired from active service in 1872 and died in August of 1875 in Berlin-Schöneberg.
