Thuisko von Stieglitz (17.12.1808 - 21.02.1881) place of birth: Mannichswalde Thuisko von Stieglitz served as Imperial Saxon Chief of General Staff for over twelve years leading up to the Austro-Prussian War of 1866. During that conflict, he lead a Saxon infantry division which fought in support of the Austrian monarchy. Following their defeat to Prussia troops at the Battle of Königgrätz, General von Stieglitz retired from active duty.
