Near
full life span from youthful days when we were changing class
Our
dreams could not imagine then, we’d look 50 years into our past
We've
traveled far these 50 years, from a time that we all share
And
seems like merely yesterday, climbing a Central stair
Young
and sassy, sweet and smart, we thought we knew it all
The
world was at our doorstep as we stood so proud and tall
We
had our crush on one next door, our thoughts were all aglow
But
then youth passed and changed us, leaving memories we all know
Long
ago a guiding star we may have looked upon
To
give us knowledge in our quest to a future dawn
We
saw those dawns and most are bright, some are filled with tears
As
we've traveled separate paths in life, thoughout these 50 years
But
our river flows just the same, our High School at her side
Only
it too has changed and our river not so wide
Our
school resembles one we knew, but classes altered so
A
University now stands its place where others learn and grow
As
we gaze back into our past and good times that we had
Or
a thought that brings a tiny tear to make us a gently sad
Our
lids have long been dry, but that tear may blur our eyes
We
lost our precious classmates, so many broken ties
And
we won't forget those that passed, so early in their life
They
left us cherished memories, family, husband or wife
Is
there one moment in time as we reminisce our past
That
you remember most of all about the 51 class
A friend,
a game or high teen, perhaps it was something more
And
we all remember teachers, or dancing the MA floor
Parents,
teachers, our mentors, they were never very far
As
we look back those 50 years, they were that guiding star
Yes
we share a common bonding, fellow class of 51
For
we left "One Moment in Time" ~ each and everyone....
Dedicated
to the Class of '51
In
memory of those that passed
