Dec
4, 2006: We are now in week 9!!!! Results for 5 of
the 6 blood tests that were done from last weeks appointment were
to be back today and the doc said no news is good news. Well today
came and went and no phone call from them so I guess all is good!
The 6th test for cystic fibrosis will have results in a few weeks.
I found
out recently that a good friend of mine is due to have a baby the
same day as us! How exciting!
Dec
5, 2006: We received a card in the mail from my cousins
congratulating us! It was a very funny card and inside there was
a $40 gift card for Babies R Us. How nice of them! Also Damian's
brother and wife sent us a really cute ecard the other day with
congratulations as well! And his sister gave us a card too!
Dec
15, 2006: The docs office told us it would be about
2 weeks before we would get results for the cystic fibrosis test
and it is now past that date. Again, no news is good news. We will
get the actual results for all the blood tests at our next appointment.
Dec
22, 2006: Our appointment yesterday was GREAT! We started
out with our ultrasound and then I had an exam. The ultrasound was
fabulous!!! Our baby looks great and was VERY active! The technician
had a difficult time getting the pictures she needed because baby
did not want to say still! Baby is measuring about 3 inches from
the op of its head to its bum. (Hard to get exact length since the
legs are curled up into the fetal position.) The baby's heartbeat
is about 162 bpm, which is good! It was amazing to see he baby moving
around and actually looking like a baby! We could see the arms,
legs, head, belly (and what a round one it is!), nose, mouth, eyes,
and hands! How amazing that a being a only 12 weeks old can be so
developed already! The tech looked at the thickness in the back
of the baby's neck to check for abnormalities and everything looks
good, but that is only preliminary. We will be able to tell more
soon once the blood test returns in a few weeks. We got a few pictures
to take home of our baby.

How cool
are they? WOW! It's really real! Then we moved onto the exam. All
went well there too. We met one of the five doctors in the practice,
Dr. Wasserman. He was very nice and very open to discussing what
ever we wanted. They weighed me and I lost weight! Hehe.... they
said that was normal from the morning sickness and not eating alot.
However they did tell me to expect a large gain at my next appointment,
which would not surprise me. Only one vial of blood this time ...
phew! We also got to hear the baby's heartbeat, which was WONDERFUL!
It was so reassuring to hear! What a beautiful sound!
We have
our next two appointments scheduled - Jan 18 and Feb 15. The Feb
15 appointment will be an exciting one! We hopefully get to find
out what the baby's gender is! YAY! My dad is convinced we are having
a girl; he had a dream about it. On the other hand, Damian is hoping
for a boy!
I am feeling
really good. I still gag at times and have a queasy stomach once
in awhile, but and feeling better and back to needing to ea every
2 hours or so. I have been getting headaches lately, but as long
as I catch them right away I am ok.
