18, 2007: We had our third appointment today. I was
just a quick check up where Dr. Meinz listened for the heart beat
with the dopller, which was 150. She had to chase the little rug
rat around a couple of times to get a good reading! Baby is still
VERY active, which is a good thing. Like the Dr. said he/she is
already aserting his/her independence! Oh dear, if in fact that
is true we are in so much trouble when this baby makes his/her debut
into the world! She said my blood pressure was good and I am measuring
where I should be, so all must be progressing well. I have had a
nasty cold thing going on and told Dr what I have been taking and
she said that was fine. Hopefully it will go away soon. I also had
my last blood draw for another couple of months, thankfully. It
took two people to get what they needed. The first girl tried and
had no luck so she went to get someone else with a lo more experience
and she has NO problem! The blood was for the last portion of the
triple-screeen test we started back in December. We should have
the results from the triple-screen in 7 to10 days. I am not overly
concerned since the ultrasound that went with the triple-screen
looked great according to the tech. Our next appointment is on Feb
15; this is the BIG one! We get another more intense ultrasound
and hopefully we will be able to fid out what we are having! Then
comes the difficult task of picking names! We are going to pick
both a name for a boy and girl JUST IN CASE they are wrong or baby
won't cooperate.
I am feeling
pretty good - still have some morning sickness, but it's not like
it was. I was having some pretty bad back pains sleeping at night
so I went out and bought a memory foam mattress pad for my side
of the bed and a special pregnancy pillow that is supposed to help
keep my spine and hips correctly aligned. So far so good! None of
my regular pants fit me anymore so I have gone onto stretchy cotton
pants and some maternity pants, which of course are still too big
but at least I am comfortable.
