May 1, 2007: I found this neat website that can calculate the possible eye color of a baby before it is born according to the parents and granparents eye colors: Eye Calculator According to this Kayley will have a 50% chance of having blue eyes, a 50% chance of having green eyes, and 0% chance of having brown.

May 3, 2007: I had my 30 week 6 day appointment this afternoon and everything looks good! Kayley is head down FOR SURE! YAY! We also talked about getting a pediatrician, strep B testing, and sleep positioners. She is measuring 32 weeks, so just a bit ahead of schedule and I have only gained 1 lb since my last apt 3 weeks ago; so that makes a total of 9 pound gain! I will now go every 2 weeks for the next 2 appointments then on to once a week! WOW!!! My blood pressure is great and my urine was just fine too! YAY! Our next appointment is scheduled for May 17 at 10:30 AM.

May 17, 2007: Today was our 32 week 6 day appointment. All went well! When we first got there my blood pressure was really high - 162/90ish. That was scary to hear those numbers! They told me to lay on my left side and took it again right away and it was 116/70ish - PHEW! Thank goodness! My urine was clear of protien and sugar. I have lost a 1/2 lb so I have gained 8 1/2 lbs all together. This is such a small amount to gain, but my doctors do not seem concerned so I am not. It will certainly all come off when she is born so that is good! I now have to do daily movement counts to make sure that Kayley is still healthy. I have to pick a two hour block of time and make sure that I feel her move 10 times in that time frame; if I do not get the movement I need to call the OB office so they can do furthur testing to make sure she is ok. Our next appointment is May 31 at 10:00 AM; after that I think I will be going weekly appointments until she s born! Can you believe that she will be here in less then 8 weeks? WOW!

May 31, 2007: At our 34 week 6 day appointment, we did the usual of listening to Kayley's hear beat, checking my blood preassure, checking for protein / sugar in my urine, checking my weight, and measuring my belly. I gained 1 3/4 lbs in the past two weeks so that puts me at a total gain of 10 1/4 lbs. My belly is measuring at 34 weeks and Kayley is still head down. She is in the fetal position with her back on my left side, her bum at the top of my belly, and her extremities on my right, which makes perfect sense because that is where I feel all the kicks and jabs. I will now be having appointments weekly until she is born. At my next appointment, next Thursday, I will have my strep B test done. I will get the strep B results at the following week apt and if I am a carrier will get the needed info on what to do when labor starts becasue I guess they handle things differently in that case. I asked when they do checks for effacement and dialation; she told me that they do not do any until my due date so that they can decide which route to take for an induction should one be needed. She asked if I had taken any classes and which ones. When I didn't mention a breastfeeding class, she questioned me about it. I told her I was pretty overwhelmed with everything lately so I had chosen not to take one; she recommended that I go buy a good book and read it on my own time. I had planned on doing that, just hadn't gotten around to it! So all in all, things are good! PHEW!
