How do I know that the limousine company has the proper insurance?

The best way is to call the P.U.C. and give them the companies PUC number. They will check for you. The BBB can be helpful also.

What is inside a limousine?

Most stretch limo's have a couple of TV's and a VCR/DVD player. A CD player is common also. There will be an ice chest built into the bar area and might be stocked with soda and water. It is common to see special lighting and other fun features in a newer limousine.

What about food and drinks?

Most companies will supply some type of drinks with your limo. The company cannot supply alcohol of any type. You can ask that your driver pick up something just before your trip and the driver will retain the receipt.  It is recommended that you supply whatever is needed and you are allowed to bring anything you like.

Are there minimum time limits when renting a limousine?

As a general rule, there is a 3 hour minimum. I would check with the company that you plan to use.

What about tolls and parking charges?

This will depend on your specific trip. Most tolls are included in the total bill.

What is an appropriate amount to tip my driver and how do I pay my bill?

Most companies will ask for a deposit when you make a reservation. This can be done with a credit card. The driver will have a contract with them when they arrive to pick you up. At the end of your trip, sign the agreement sheet and your card will be billed for the balance. It is common to simply pay the bill in cash at the end of your trip. Your driver will appreciate receiving a cash gratuity. The standard amount of the gratuity is 15%-20% of the bill. The actual amount that you would tip your driver depends on how well your driver performed his job.

Will my driver have a safe driving record?

Insuring a "unsafe" driver is very expensive and most companies cannot afford to hire a bad driver. The insurance company will not put a bad driver on their insurance policy. Not all companies are in full compliance. Make sure that the vehicle you plan to rent has license plates that start with the letters "LM". To obtain "limo" plates, first the company must show proof of insurance.
