Ann McCurley autobiography.
After I graduated from school I went to work at S.H. Kress as office clerk. In 1960 I married
Sidney McCurley from Holly Grove. He went into the army. We were gone 8 years and then
came back to West Helena. While he was in the army we lived for awhile in both Hinesville,
Georgia and Breckenridge, Kentucky.
We adopted a baby girl, whom we named Cheryl Lannett McCurley. She is now grown and is
married to Bill Richardson . Bill is a director for the Concord Medical Schools. They have two
children, a son named Jake who is 11 years old, and a daughter named Sydney Leighann, who is
3 years old. They live in Overland Park, Kansas
I worked for 17 years at the West-Gibson's Store. Sid worked for 20 years at Allied Chemical
and then worked for about 18 more years in maintenance for the Helena-West Helena school
district.
Since Sid and I have both retired we are thinking of moving to Kansas to be closer to my
daughter and grandkids. Isn't it wonderful to be grandparents?
We are members of Fourth St Baptist church and love it. We enjoy walking, and also I work
in the relay for life every year.
