In May of 1957 Alton Hensley and I were married on the day of his high
school graduation of Central HIgh. We continued to live in West Helena
where he worked for Mohawk Tire for 6 years. We then moved to Sherwood
Arkansas and he worked for Southwestern Transportation Co for 9 years
during this time I was a stay at home mother/homemaker and raised two
of our three daughters.
After Southwestern Transportation, our third daughter was born and we
bought a Dairy Queen in Vilonia Arkansas. We owned this many years
until Alton had a heart attack in 1980. We eventually sold the dairy
bar and I worked at a tool and die company for nearly 20 years. I have
retired now and we still live in Vilonia Arkansas (33 years now) as we
will continue to do. 2 of our 3 daughers live here as well. Our
daugthers are Donna, Debbie and Lori. I have 8 grandchildren.
I have spent my life home making and raising my daughters. Now I spend
my time enjoying my grandchildren who are ages 4 years old to 23 years.
