After we graduated on the 25th of May, Joe and I married the next night at the West Helena
Church of Christ. We moved to Oak lawn, IL where Joe was working for the GM & O Railroad.
I was a stay at home Mom and after 6 years we moved back to West Helena where Joe had a
garage.
We have 3 grown children, Billy & his wife Julia have 3 children. Billy is Service Manager for
the Chevrolet dealership in Clarksdale Mississippi. Dotti & her husband Steve live in Canyon
Lake, Texas And due to cancer Dotti was unable to have children. They have just opened a
Nursery in San Marcus, Texas. Our youngest son Johnny lives in Beebe & has 2 darling girls. He
works in Cabot for a Glass Company that installs automotive glass and Commercial and
Residential Buildings.
I had colon cancer 4 years ago & under went surgery and 9 months of Chemo. I had a wonderful
nurse named Joe, he cooked clean & etc., don't know how I would have made it without him.
After retiring 4 years ago, we bought a RV and enjoy traveling & seeing our families and
grandchildren. We both enjoy yard work and have a beautiful yard & deck. Joe also has a small
fishpond. I enjoy crocheting, reading, cooking, needlepoint and church work where I worked for
20 yrs. We will be married 50 yrs. the last of May and I would do it all over again. See you all
