Marilyn was in Helena for just her senior year. She moved there from El Dorado to live with her
dad(John Evans Meador) and stepmother and brother(John Evans, Jr.). Her dad was a farmer and
egg producer who made friends all over town when he delivered eggs to the grocery stores. He
was known as "Jumbo". They belonged to the First Baptist Church.

Upon graduation, Marilyn moved to Memphis where she has lived ever since. She finished
nursing school as an RN in 1959. Many years later, after 7 years of night school, she graduated
with her BSN from Union University. She has worked for Baptist Memorial Hospital since 1959
except for one break for a few years to devote time to child-raising. She now works about one
day a week in the outpatient department. Marilyn and her family have been active at Christ
United Methodist Church since 1970. She has also been active in the Woman's Exchange of
Memphis and the Emmaus Community.

Marilyn married William J. (Bill) Crosby in 1965. They are a typical Memphis family. One is
from Arkansas and the other is from Mississippi. They have a 37 year old(Chris) who is not yet
married and a 34 year old(Matthew) who is married to a wonderful lady(Jeanne) and they have an
18 month old grandson(Will).

Marilyn's original plans included going to Arkansas State and having a good time. Her dad had
other plans which superseded hers, and it seems to have worked out for the best.

Her strong suit as a nurse is making unhappy patients happy. She has knack for that.

She has a jolly sense of humor and, therefore, many friends.

In the 1981 re-union photo, she is third from the right on the back row wearing a red blouse and
white jacket. She looks pretty much the same now, only with more hair(unlike her husband who
has stopped combing his hair and started arranging it)

Marilyn's husband, Bill, is from Indianola, MS. They met in Memphis. He has been mostly in
the hotel business managing construction for hotel owners. Now in semi-retirement, he does
business development for a hotel renovation company.
