Bio
I married Mary Ellen Ramey on May 31, 1956, six days after graduation. We had two children,
Theresa Dianne on January 11, 1960, and Sherrie Lynn on June 10, 1962. Dianne lives in
Crossett, AR and has two children, a son and a daughter. Sherrie lives in Denham Springs, LA
and has two children, two daughters. I worked for Mohawk Tire Company for 30 years. I was
married to Mary Ellen Ramey for 20 years, divorced in 1977.
I married again to Silvie Huff in April, 1982.
(Jerry Savell was married to Silvie Huff for 5 years, before he died in 1987.)
Obituary
William Jerry Savell, of West Helena, AR, died on July 2, 1987, in his home of a massive heart
attack. He was survived by his wife Silvie Huff Savell, two daughters Dianne Savell Marter and
her husband John of Crossett, AR, Sherrie Savell Crumby and husband Mark of Denham
Springs, LA. Three step children, and three grandchildren, David Marter, Kallie Crumby, and
Robyn Crumby. He was buried in Sunset Memorial Park on July 4, 1987, by Rollers-Citizens
Funeral Home.
