When I left High School I moved to Little Rock and started working at Timex. I worked up to foreman before I left in 1963. I met my wife, Virginia Morgan from Carlisle, in 1960. My parents had moved to Carlisle temporarily and I was visiting with them. I met her at the Hilldale Baptist Church in Carlisle. We will have been married 45 years as of July 1st of this year. Some class members may be interested to know that Virginia had Ms. Johnnie Coleman as a teacher in Carlisle before Ms. Coleman came to Helena, and taught some of us.

We have three sons and a daughter. They have given us 8 grandchildren, 6 grandsons and 2 grandaughters. My Children are Joe, Jr., Jeff, Jill (now Sanders), and Jason. In the photo at the left you see my daughter Jill in the back and Jason, Jeffrey, and Joey left to right.. Joe has 2 boys, Jeff has 2 boys, Jill has one boy, and Jason has two girls and a boy. My son Jeff in 1981 was on the State Championship Basketball team from Bryant. Then in 1982 my daughter, Jill, played on the girl's state championship basketball team.

All four of my children graduated from High School at Bryant and all four went to college. Jeff was a basketball coach for awhile, but now has a swimming pool company. Jill and her husband have a trucking company.

For 15 years I served in the youth programs at Bryant in youth baseball and basketball as organizer, director and coach.

I have some pictures I will mail to Jim to post. One is my four children and I have one of my 8 grand children. I also have a few pictures from Junior High School I will try to find. I quit Timex in 1963 and went to work at Reynolds metals in Bauxite. I worked there for 25 years as a pipe fitter and plumber. In 1982 I got hurt on the job. I ruptured a disk in my neck. In 1984 I retired with permanent disability. My wife has worked through the years as a sales clerk and a secretary. She is working now part time as a secretary. Some classmates may remember my sisters Edith Hilton and Ella Cash. Both were working as waitresses in Helena when we graduated from High School. Edith worked at Nick's Cafe, and served our graduation lunch. She lives in Dallas now. Ella worked at the People's Grill which was on Cherry Street not far from Nick's.

Virginia and I moved back to Carlisle in 1990 and bought an old house that had been built in 1908. We started remodeling it. But in 2002 my health started getting bad. I had heart surgery that year. By 2003 my health had gotten so bad that we decided to sell the house and move to Benton where we now live. It is pretty close to Bryant, where we had lived before.

I have a lot of nerve damage in my back, so I am not able to drive and I can't sit at the computer and type. I have been reading all the emails from the class and looking at the web site when I can and have really appreciated it. If I could type, you would hear more from me.

I am going to do my best to make it to the May 1st planning meeting. We had a very exceptional class.
