Brief Biography:
Okay, here's my bio. You know the stuff up to my 18th year, right? I suppose I could start on the
cold night I entered my apartment and five gunshots ripped into my groin, but I don't want to
bore you with inane little vignettes. Big stuff: presently happily married to Diane(a Clarendon
girl), five healthy,happy and successful children between us, ten beautiful grand children between
us.
Like many young folks I began my college the fall after graduation. And like many I had
trouble deciding on a major, so my education was interrupted several times by indecisions,
marriage, family, jobs, and other twists and turns of life. But I was never deterred and a few
months before my 60th birthday I achieved a bachelors degree from the University of Arkansas.
During the course of time , I have moved about a bit. In chronological order I've lived in
Seattle, Fresno, West Helena(2nd time), Russellville, Texarkana (Texas), West Helena (3rd and
present).
One of the rather unique experiences I had was walking a post around Little Rock Central as
a Federalized National Guard guy. It seems surreal in retrospect, I thought the whole uproar was
political/social B.S., and a shame and still do.
Career, I use the term loosely, has been a work in progress for me. I suppose it could be
described as a combination of fortune(good and bad) and choice that have led me to, or allowed
me to, work in a variety of fields and in a variety of positions. Occupations include; factory
worker, sales, service technician, marketing specialist, mental health management( several
different areas), and teacher. Not bad for a guy trying to finish college and recover from severe
