Brief Biography:

After graduating from high school, entered Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in Dallas, Texas. Graduated from nursing school in 1959 with a diploma in nursing. (A diploma in nursing is a three-year school.)

After graduating from nursing school, attended Memphis State University 1960-1962.

1963-married David A. Laurel. Dave was in the Navy then. We lived in a few Navy base towns before he left the Navy in 1966 and went to work for Westinghouse in aero- space and defense. We then moved to Baltimore, Maryland, where we lived on and off for about 13 years in the Baltimore area.

I worked as a registered nurse for approximately 20 years in various places. The last was Maryland in the operating room for 9 1/2 years. Decided to retire in 1978 after Dave was transferred to Oklahoma City, OK., Tinker Air Force Base.

Around 1981 Dave started deployments to Saudi Arabia. Those lasted for a few years. Then in 1985, both of us moved to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, where Dave was on assignment. We lived in Saudi Arabia for six years. We were living in Riyadh during the Gulf War. Westinghouse and Boeing evacuated all of the dependents, but Dave stayed. Around 1992, we departed Saudi Arabia and moved to Oklahoma again. We stayed in Oklahoma around 2 1/2 years. 1995 we moved to Germany for 5 1/2 years. Dave was on assignment to NATO in Geilenkirchen. Dave decided to retire in the year 2000 from Northrop Grumman (they bought Westinghouse Aerospace and Defense around 1998 .) His plan was not to work after we left Germany.

He retired on March 1st 2001.

2001 we moved to Allen, Texas and bought a house here in 2002.

My hobbies over the years have been: oil painting, pastel painting, flying, travel, biking, boating, fishing and cooking. Dave is a pilot and we owned two general aviation airplanes for about 20 years, so we flew all over the U.S. for those 20 years. We sold the last plane when Dave and I moved to Saudi Arabia and have not bought back into general aviation. Now it is very expensive.
We are now enjoying retirement , and travel in the U.S.
