As soon as I graduated I left to join the Air Force with Dan Casteel and Roger Wood. George
Yahnke was going with us, but he did not pass the test, so he came a few weeks later. Budgie
was going with us too, but at the last minute, backed out.
We went first to basic training at Parks AFB in California and then on to a tech school at F. E.
Warren AFB in Wyoming. There I was taught stock record supply.
After that I was stationed for two years at Limestone, Maine. There I worked in Base Record
Supply. I spent one year at Ben Guerir., Morroco.
I married in 1961, and have two children by that marriage, a son, John Taylor, Jr. and a daughter,
Kelly. John is here in HWH and works for Texas Eastern. Kelly is in Little Rock. I came out of
the Air Force and started working in Twin City Auto Parts, where I worked until 1975. Then I
started my own business, T&C Auto Parts, in West Helena. I have been running that business
since 1975.
In the year 2000 I married Jenny Seaton. Jenny and I have adopted a son, Landon. I am sending
a photo of Jenny, Landon and me. Also I'm sending a photo of Landon holding a fish that he
caught. Jenny and I have a home right on Moon Lake in Dundee Mississippi.
If asked to give one message to the class, it would be this, that I am a very happy person, and I
am enjoying my life.
