Here an IDA 71 Counter Lung completely disassembled
Remove the blue tape and cut the twine:
![]() Here is a clear picture of the counter lung with all of the internal hardware components removed. This can be done easily without damaging either the bag or the components. The blue tape and the twine must be removed from all of the fittings and then they can be carefully pulled through the largest opening (the ADV). |
![]() Photo of all of the components modeled in the relative positions inside the bag. Notice both of the inhale side scrubber fittings have 3 inch tubes connected to them. These act as a water traps on the inhale side. If one were to split the bag and only use one hole per side then these could be used for water traps on both the inhale and exhale side. |
Here the un-needed port fittings have been removed. |
![]() Grommets removed, holes ready to patch.

Just a quick idea on moving the exhale plumbing outside of the lung and creating a water trap at the same time.
|
![]() With the above setup the free end of the water trap could be plugged for quick cleaning.
