Nature article
01/11/2009

Jeff has an article in the 1 January 2009 issue of Nature, on 'four telescopes that will change the next 40 years' - a riff off the 400 years since Galileo invented the telescope, the reason why 2009 is designated as the International Year of Astronomy.

The article covers the James Webb Space Telescope, the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope, the European Extra-Large Telescope, and the Square Kilometre Array. Lynette Cook provided the stunning accompanying artwork. Check out the article here (subscription may be required).

The January 2009 issue of Communications of the ACM, the flagship publication of the Association for Computing Machinery, has an article by Jeff about the virtual observatories WorldWide Telescope and GoogleSky.
